Next time you feel the need to get away from it all, take a drive down the NSW, North Coast to the sleepy seaside town of Kingscliff and drop in to the Kathmandu Kitchen. Hailing from the Kathmandu Valley, owner/chef Shrankar Shrestha serves authentic dishes bursting with the aromas and flavours of Nepal and Tibet. Specialties of the house include steamed dumplings with a tomato and coriander chutney, and a fragrant Himalayan lamb korma cooked in coconut cream and 20 herbs and spices. For a unique way to finish off, throw caution to the wind and try a slice of the chocolate chilli cake.
